We periodically hold Seminars and other educational events, our most recent was an interpretation of the Kennel Club Breed Standard given by our President Mrs Marianne Nixon (Brackenacre). All seminars are held in accordance with the Kennel Club Code of Best Practise. We are pleased to say we have a very high pass rate and we wish to congratulate everyone who has passed the exam with flying colours. We are so pleased to be in a position to help both breed specialists and hound enthusiasts alike. We look forward to planning and producing another seminar in the near future. Please feel free to contact us for details if you are interested in attending.

Over the years we have held numerous seminars, here are some photographs of the one which was considered by many at the time to be ground breaking. It lead the way and was the basis for many other breed seminars - and not just for Basset Hounds! This was at a time when the Kennel Club had recently began its work on the 'Judges Working Party Framework Document' which lead to the 'Code of Best Practise for running a Seminar' which set out the standard by which all seminars must now be held.
We invited three guest speakers, we had previously held two very successful seminars in conjunction with other hound breeds prior to this one, and all were very well attended. This one was to exceed all expectations and became the foundation of all future educational events. We invited three of the longest established breeder/exhibitors Mrs Doreen Gilberthorpe, Mrs Marianne Nixon and Mr George Johnston to explain conformation and movement of the Basset Hound, how judges should examine the exhibits and what they should be looking for and above all to share their vast knowledge of this wonderful breed.
